In a surprising crossover event that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
